Dave Kapell
David E. Kapell has been active selling, leasing, managing, appraising and investing in real estate since founding a family agency in Greenport, Long Island, New York in 1981. Having acquired a Florida license, he has associated with Judith Rosen & Associates to expand his activities to Miami Beach, where he maintains a residence.
Dave specializes in selling architecturally distinctive waterfront properties and has extensive knowledge of the intricacies of this niche market. He has broad experience with commercial, mixed-use properties and land development.
Prior to moving to Greenport in 1978, Dave managed several high-profile New York City restaurants. He is a trained classical pianist and a rock & roll and country and western bassist.
In addition to his private business activities, Dave served 13 years as mayor of the Village of Greenport, New York, where he presided over a robust revitalization of this small Victorian seaport. In June 2003, he graduated from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University with a Master in Public Administration degree.
Dave’s father was the renowned American concert pianist William Kapell. His mother, Dr. Anna Lou Dehavenon, is a prominent authority on hunger and homelessness in the City of New York.
Dave and his wife Eileen have three grown children.
